In November 2007, the capital city of Peru was hit with a powerful WSI workshop where more than 100 local business owners attended to increase their knowledge on effective Internet marketing strategies.
Lima based WSI Consultant Rober Aphang organized the event, alongside a trio of highly successful Consultants in the network: Francisco Hernandez from Panama, Doug Schust from Canada, and Neal Lappe from USA.
“The workshop was a tremendous hit,” Rober said. “We had more than 100 participants who were thrilled with the quality of our speakers and our organization.”
Participants included business owners from a wide range of industries, such as Internet, banking, communication, fashion, media, etc. One company even sponsored 14 participants to attend this workshop.
This workshop was jointly organized by WSI and the University of ESAN, who are experts in organizing these types of events. Several high quality sponsors helped to fund the organization and promotion of the workshop, and as a result, WSI donated part of the registration fees to Aldeas Infantiles SOS Perú, an organization geared toward helping abandoned children find a home and a family.
This workshop was publicized through various channels, such as local newspapers, online, prominent business magazines and even the local radio station. One of the major local newspapers published a brief invitation to the workshop in the Marketing Section. In addition, Rober and Francisco were interviewed by a local radio station for a business program.
Workshop attendees had a line-up of fantastic guest speakers, including the president of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), an organization whose members are the most prominent Peruvian Web portals. Also, the vice-rector of the University ESAN (co-organizer) and the National Director of Aldeas Infantiles SOS gave welcome and thank-you speeches, expressing their appreciation of WSI.
According to Rober, the feedback from the attendees was fantastic. “All attendees were asked to conduct a survey after the workshop,” Rober explained. “To our delight, all of the survey respondents gave us high marks in every category. One particularly outstanding statistic is that 90% of the attendees were likely to recommend this workshop to colleagues/friends.”
Attendees walked away from the workshop with many insightful Internet marketing tactics that they can now apply in their business to increase their bottom line.
